Counselling & MBTI® Services

Individual counselling, couples counselling and personality-focused support, tailored to the needs and goals of the people I work with.

I offer online counselling for individuals and couples, with sessions shaped around what you bring to counselling and what you hope to understand, resolve or change.

Counselling

Individual counselling offers a space to work through personal, emotional, relational or life issues that may be leaving you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or uncertain. Together, we can explore what is happening, understand what may be contributing to it, and work towards meaningful change.

Individual Counselling

Couples & Marriage Counselling

Couples counselling offers a space to work through relationship difficulties, improve communication, rebuild trust and strengthen connection. The aim is to better understand what is happening between you and create room for healthier ways of relating. Pre-marriage counselling is also available.

MBTI® Services - Insight for Growth

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® is a well-established personality tool that enhances self-understanding and relationships. I integrate MBTI thoughtfully within counselling and also offer standalone MBTI consultations for personal and professional development.

Personality type can be explored as part of counselling where it is relevant and helpful. Understanding your preferences can provide another way of making sense of how you process experiences, relate to others, make decisions and respond to different situations.

MBTI in Counselling

Formal MBTI® Assessment and Reports

For those wanting a more formal exploration of personality type, I also offer the official MBTI® assessment together with a personalised report and discussion of your results. A range of reports is available depending on what you would like to explore, including personal development, career direction, communication, conflict and stress.

As a fellow INFJ, I understand that it can be helpful to speak with someone who already has some understanding of how you experience the world, without having to spend a great deal of time explaining why you may think, feel or respond differently. INFJs can often feel misunderstood, particularly when their intentions, perceptions or way of relating to others are interpreted differently from how they are actually experienced internally.

One of the difficulties for INFJs is that they can often be quite perceptive about what is happening around them, yet receive mixed messages from others about what they are seeing or experiencing. At the same time, INFJs can sometimes have blind spots when it comes to themselves. Their attention is often drawn towards understanding other people, relationships and the wider environment, while their own identity and needs can become less clear. This can leave them feeling uncertain about themselves even when they have considerable insight into others.

INFJs often have a strong sense of what could be — in their own lives, in relationships, in their work or in the wider world. At times, however, turning that inner vision into something concrete can be difficult, particularly when self-doubt, misunderstanding or competing expectations get in the way. Part of the counselling process can be helping you understand what matters most to you, become clearer about your direction, and find practical ways of bringing more of that vision into your life and the world around you.

Counselling for INFJs

With nearly twenty years of counselling experience, together with my background as an INFJ and certified MBTI® practitioner, I aim to provide a space where INFJs can bring the full complexity of what they are experiencing and feel genuinely understood. Often this involves helping them recognise what they may already be seeing clearly, while also helping them recognise the parts of themselves or the situation that may be harder for them to see. My aim is to help bring the different pieces together so that the underlying issue, need or pattern becomes clearer.

When this process works well, it can help INFJs develop a deeper and more balanced understanding of themselves, feel more solid in their own perceptions, and approach relationships, decisions and life challenges from a more grounded and confident position.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a particular issue they want help with; at other times, life simply feels difficult, confusing or no longer manageable in the way it once did. You may know exactly what you want to work through, or you may simply have a sense that something needs to change.

If you’re considering counselling, you’re welcome to make an enquiry. There’s no commitment to proceed — the first step simply gives me an opportunity to understand a little about what you’re looking for and whether my approach is likely to be a good fit.

How to Get Started

Step 1. Make an enquiry
Send a quick expression of interest through the website.

Step 2. Tell me a little about what you’re looking for
I’ll send you a brief questionnaire to learn more about what has brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping to work through. This also helps me determine whether online counselling with me is suitable for your needs.

Step 3. Complete the counselling application
If it looks like my counselling service is a good fit and you’d like to proceed, I’ll send you the counselling application form.

Step 4. Organise your first session
We’ll arrange a suitable time for your first session. I’ll then send you a Google Calendar invitation with the Google Meet link.

A few things to know:

You don’t need to have everything figured out before making contact. The enquiry process is simply a starting point, and you’re welcome to ask any questions you may have before deciding whether you would like to proceed.

Online counselling: Australia-wide. International enquiries are also welcome, subject to location and suitability.

Do I need a referral? No. You can make a counselling enquiry directly without a referral from a GP or other health professional.

Session length: 50-60 minutes
Fee: $150 AUD

Is there a Medicare rebate? No. Medicare rebates are not currently available for my counselling services, so the full session fee applies.
